About
The Full Story
I started this work with the purpose to help children access higher education without
financial barriers and to uplift the next generation to do great things. Having navigated
the college system myself, I understand how overwhelming and discouraging the
process can feel, especially for families who are unsure where to begin. My goal is to
simplify that journey, provide clear and practical guidance, and empower young
people to see education as an achievable pathway rather than an unattainable dream.
I am currently a graduate student in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University
of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a strong academic foundation, extensive community
involvement, and a deep commitment to advocacy and access to education and
mental health resources. My work is rooted in the belief that young people, especially
those from historically marginalized communities, deserve equitable access to
opportunity and support.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from UNLV, graduating on the Dean’s List,
after completing my Associate of Arts degree with high honors and recognition on the
President’s List at the College of Southern Nevada. My education has been supported by multiple competitive scholarships and grants, including the BeHERE NV Advanced Scholarship, UNLV Signature Grant, Millennium Scholarship, and several community-based awards.
My professional experience spans clinical, research, and community-based settings. I currently work as a Behavioral Skills Trainer (BST) and Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) clinician, providing services to youth ages 13–18 in detention centers, parole programs, and community reentry settings. My work focuses on emotional regulation, life skills development, coping strategies, and pro-social behavior using CBT-informed interventions. I collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, probation and parole officers, and families to support court compliance, reintegration, and long-term success.
In addition to clinical work, I serve as a Research Assistant in multiple labs at UNLV under the supervision. I assist with psychological assessment scoring, data entry, asset mapping, and direct interaction with children and adolescents ages 5–17.
My commitment to service extends beyond academic and clinical spaces. I have held leadership roles within youth advocacy organizations, including serving as Junior Vice Chair of the Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program (YNAPP), where I collaborated with local government officials, oversaw grant distribution, and supported youth-led nonprofit initiatives. I am also a Ronald McDonald House Charities Ambassador, engaging in outreach, public speaking, fundraising, and volunteer coordination to support families with hospitalized children.
I actively volunteer as a Crisis Counselor with Crisis Text Line, providing crisis intervention, risk assessment, and de-escalation support to individuals in distress. Additionally, I also co-founded Creative Care, a nonprofit initiative dedicated to supporting teenage mothers and vulnerable populations through advocacy, resource distribution, and community partnerships.
Across all of my work, my mission remains consistent: to empower youth by increasing access to education, mental health support, and community resources. I am passionate about creating pathways for young people to envision more for themselves and providing the tools and guidance to help them get there.
